Details of Position
We are looking for a full-time EFL teacher to join our language school in North Puglia. 25 hours per week from 16th September 2020 to mid-June 2021.
If you are enthusiastic about teaching, this could be the job for you. Our ideal candidate is someone who is genuinely interested in helping language learners get the most out of their English lessons. We are looking for a teacher who is open to teaching both online and in the classroom for this academic year. We offer a varied weekly timetable, with a mix of both adults and young learner groups. The timetable consists of 24 teaching hours plus one staff meeting/professional development workshop each week.
The COVID-19 pandemic has made 2020 a hugely challenging for our school, but has given us the opportunity to learn and develop different approaches to language teaching. We managed to overcome the difficulties presented to us during lockdown, and continued our courses in safety for both teachers and students. With the help of our supportive staff, we have put in place a system of blended learning which will allow us to continue working in the event of future restrictions. Full support and training will be given.
- Full time EFL teacher 25 contact hours per week (24 hours teaching and 1 weekly professional development workshop/staff meeting per week)
-Teaching General English and Cambridge/Trinity exam preparation.
-The successful candidate will be required to teach a mix ages and levels, group classes and 1:1 students both online and in the classroom.
-The teaching week is Monday to Friday.
We offer support throughout the teaching year through regular staff meetings and classroom observations. We organise workshops for our teachers covering areas such as teaching young learners, motivating teenagers and preparing students for exams. Our DoS and teaching colleagues are on hand for advice, support and help in developing teaching ideas during the week. At the beginning of the academic year we offer a two week paid induction course which gives new teachers the opportunity to get to know the team and students, and also to settle into school life.
Our school is in Torremaggiore (population 17 000), which is a friendly and welcoming market town in the far north of Puglia. This area offers beautiful scenery and is only 20 minutes from the Adriatic coast. It is important to bear in mind before application that the school is not in a big city and would therefore suit a teacher who enjoys what life has to offer in a smaller Italian town.
-Guaranteed basic monthly net starting salary of 1100,00-1250,00 Euro (depending on experience)
-End of Year Bonus paid on successful completion of the contract.
-Paid holidays (Christmas/Easter/Italian national and local holidays)
-Reasonably priced shared accommodation provided in the town
We are a friendly, professional school with an excellent local reputation and a high student return rate. The school is in the centre of the town with bright modern classrooms, self-access centre and well-stocked, up-to-date resource library.
